Can old furniture be donated instead of dumped?
Yes, if it is clean, dry and structurally sound. Happy Panda sorts usable furniture for donation before anything goes to a transfer station. Upholstery that is water damaged, mouldy or torn cannot be donated for health reasons and has to be disposed of properly.
Do you take apart furniture?
Yes. Sectionals, bed frames, wall units and treadmills often have to come apart to clear a stairwell or a doorway. Our crew brings tools and does that as part of the job. It can add time, and we tell you before we start.
Will you take appliances too?
Yes. Fridges, stoves, washers, dryers and dishwashers are all fine. Units containing freon carry a disposal surcharge because they need special handling. We tell you that amount during the quote. Nothing appears on the invoice that you did not approve.
Can you come while I am at work?
Often, yes, if the items sit in a garage or hallway with safe access and you have arranged entry. We send photos when the job is finished, so you can see the space cleared before you get home. Payment can be handled by e-transfer afterward.
What if the piece will not fit through the door?
Then we take it apart. Between the doorway, the frame and the legs there is nearly always a way out. In rare cases a window removal is needed, and we would talk that through with you first rather than improvise.
Is there a minimum charge?
There is a minimum for sending a truck and crew, which covers a single item such as a couch or a mattress. Because pricing is by volume, adding a few more pieces to that same trip usually costs very little extra.
